For a while, I thought I’d jack the music in and move on. However, I had a flash of inspiration and went into a music-making phase (basically, my undiagnosed ADHD went blblblblbl and I forgot to eat, sleep or function in society for a few weeks while I cranked this album out).
Anyway, here’s a insight into each track!
JUDGEMENT
I didn’t really have any direct influences while making this track, but I was listening to a lot of old-school dance music at the time.
NEO-KAGOSHIMA
I think this song’s very different from a lot of stuff I’ve made before. I’d just finished my first playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 while I was making this track. This song sounds nothing like the Cyberpunk OST, but I took inspiration more from the setting of the game than the soundtrack. I quite like the intro to this song, with how it starts off melancholy and how gradual the build-up is.
EVIL CORPORATION #137™ PRESENTS: HYPER HAPPINESS
This song is, without a doubt, the most upbeat and high-tempo song I’ve ever made. The main melody is based on ‘Old Friends, Old Rivals’, the Timeless River theme from Kingdom Hearts 2. I was originally going to make a rave-y remix of OFOR, but it ended up becoming its own thing.
THE AX-W PROJECT 2.0
I think re-doing an old song every album is going to become a tradition for me. I love going back to older songs and seeing how I can improve them. The original AX-W Project is still fairly decent in my opinion, but I think this version is better. It’s faster, tighter, and a lot more aggressive in nature. My favourite part is from 00:28 to 00:57.
LAKIERSKI MATERIALSKI
You may be able to tell that this was the first song I composed of the album. I think it could easily be a track from MODERNITY, one of my previous albums. I took a lot of inspiration from Pokémon battle themes for this track. The title comes from a lyric of the song 'Posse (I Need You On The Floor)' by Scooter.
THE NINTH CIRCLE CLUB HEIST
It’s not my favourite track subjectively speaking, but I think this song is the best-made song I’ve ever composed. I’m not normally a fan of overly long build-ups, but I think it works well here. As for inspiration, I was inspired by my old Soundation tracks that I made back in 2013. Before I made my own synths and stuff, I used to use samples and pre-made melodies exclusively. I made a song called ‘This Is Fucking Trance’ (I know it’s a shit title, I was 14), which sounded a bit like this.
SMUGGLER
I wasn’t sure I was going to finish this song when I started making it, but I stuck with it and it turned out okay. I wanted to make something totally different, something that doesn’t necessarily sound like a Rebellion Cannon song. I’d been listening to a lot of the Smuggler’s Run 2 soundtrack before making this, and wanted to make something similar. The title’s a direct homage to the Smuggler’s Run series. I think this song would sound good in the 2nd game, maybe as a joyriding theme.
AUSRYTE
It’s pronounced ‘Owsh-ree-teh’. Every year, I make mini-songs for my girlfriend. This song was originally a very slow piano song, with no drums or anything. I was messing about in FL Studio one day and increased the tempo. It sounded nice. So I made a funky dance remix. Due to how upbeat and happy it sounds, I think this song’s a good way to close the album.
