about

Hypa Noize, Vox Sine Verbis, Flashcannon, Vulper, Xigma. These probably mean sod all to you, but these are the names I’ve released music under in the past - with varying degrees of success. Every time I started a new musical venture, I was under the illusion that I was one track away from being a runaway success, despite having no music theory knowledge or unique sound whatsoever. I remember being humbled by an indie music website who had interviewed a fellow indie artist I had gotten to know (and even collaborated with, under the Flashcannon name). I asked said indie music website (whose name escapes me) for an interview, believing that I was a dead cert. Naturally, they politely declined and suggested I improve (be less shit) first.

Why am I telling you this, apart from the fact that I’m a weirdo who enjoys reminiscing about his past glories-that-weren’t-actually-glories? Because over the years, I’ve changed. Captain Esoteric’s Interdimensional Happy-Go-Lucky Funtime Bonanza will be my magnum opus. You may be wondering why - is it because I’ve learnt music theory? Or because I’ve finally created an identity for myself, with a cool and distinctive musical style? IS IT BOLLOCKS. Basically, instead of making music to become renowned and rich, I’m just doing it for fun. Making music gives me a chance to express myself without having to alienate everyone I love or get myself arrested.

The songs vary in style and genre. Some are minute-long splashes of violence and anger, whereas others are more measured, but nonetheless odd. Despite not being artistic masterpieces, every track has meaning - at least to me anyway. As someone who creates things, I inevitably end up hating everything I’ve ever created, but if you held a gun to my head, I’d say my favourite tracks of the album are Berżerkerfrenży, Fever Dream and Losing A Love That Never Was.

I haven't got the brass-iron balls to charge money for this album, but if you fancy buying me a drink or something, I'd love you until the day I die.

Anyways, strap yourselves in for 11 tracks of very little merit that will not change your life in any way, shape or form. I hope you like the album. If you do, then cool! If not, then cool (but not quite as cool as actually liking it). Enjoy!
