Your first shift gets off to a productive start. Most of what you’ve done so far has been data entry - more tedious than difficult. You decide to make yourself a well-earned cup of tea.
You walk into the tea room. A young woman is in there. She’s the most beautiful woman you’ve ever laid eyes on. Her skin is like porcelain. Her lips are tender and soft. Her hair is chocolate-coloured and cascades like a waterfall. Her eyes are like two shining emeralds.
She catches you staring at her and giggles softly.
“Morning, new guy. I’m Melissa. Nice to meet you.”
“N-nice to meet you too. I’m Greg.” you sputter, trying to regain your composure.
She looks at you expectantly, but you can’t think of anything to say.
She giggles again.
“Well, I’m done in here now.”
As she starts to walk away, she turns around at the door.
“See you around, Greg.” she says, while beaming you with a dazzling grin.
She walks away, and you make yourself a cup of tea.
The rest of your shift is spent idly adding numbers into spreadsheets while daydreaming about Melissa and the future you two could have together.
Maybe next time you see her, you’ll have the guts to talk to her properly.
